For now, they do. The rest of us are either sleeping, not paying attention, or too afraid to speak up. If we all want equality, then we ALL who support that MUST vote. If we want women rights, then ALL women who are eligible MUST vote. If we want to keep liberal democracy, then ALL of us who are against tyrannical dictatorship MUST vote. We cannot afford even a single one of us to drop out, say, "my vote doesn't matter", or "I don't quite like politics nowadays, I support neither".
We have been given rights to exercise our voting power. If we do not exercise it, we lost it. Period.
So many of us rather forget history, because it's more convenient that way. Well, guess what it won't be that convenient to exercise our rights anymore if we do not do so now. We give in to powerlessness, we give in to complacency - because we think it wouldn't make a difference. It is precisely when you think it wouldn't make a difference that YOU NEED TO DEFEND IT.
